Mold Damage in Middle River, MD

Do you have mold in your basement?

Water can easily damage your home’s foundation, whether this be from flooding, moisture, or just excess water seeping through your foundation’s concrete over time. The real problem occurs when moisture comes in contact with organic materials like wood, plywood, carpet, tiles, fiberglass, and even products like “mold-resistant” drywall. Water in the basement means mold and rot will begin to grow on the drywall (in some cases where not visible) and will may need to be repaired, over even worse, re-gutted. But there is a solution!

Why our basement finishing products are the solution!

Beatiful Basement Flooring in Middle River, MD

To prevent damage from flooding or excess water in your basement, we install a water drainage system before finishing your basement using waterproof and mold resistant materials. Our materials look just like wood and tile but are inorganic and resistant to mold. Our materials are also easily washable. You don’t need to search for studs in order to hang items on the wall, as our panels support up to 300 lbs! Each of the panels is built with an unbroken sheet of insulation inside and the floor panels have raised pegs keeping them off the concrete. This completely insulates your basement.

Job Stories From New London County, CT
Basement Finishing in New London CT

The owners of a home in New London wanted extra living space in their home, but their basement was too cold and drab to use for anything but storage. With our innovative finishing products specifically designed for basements, we were able to create a comfortable, beautiful space for the family to enjoy! The MillCreek flooring has an authentic wood grain top surface, printed on a solid vinyl base that can’t be damaged by mold, moisture, or insects, and the EverLast basement wall panels are engineered to never get moldy or rot. With the risk of humidity and moisture that's so common in basements, these products are the ideal basement finishing materials!

Basement Transformation in Montville, CT

This Montville, CT homeowner wanted to transform his cold, dark basement into a beautiful living space for his whole family to enjoy. With concrete walls, floors, and an unfinished ceiling, the basement was drab and uninviting. The homeowner was able to store a few belongings there, but the space was otherwise unused. While researching solutions to his problem, the homeowner visited the Total Basement Finishing Website and reached out to their experts for a no-cost, no-obligation estimate.

On the day of the appointment, Sales Representative Brad Glazer traveled to the home to evaluate the basement. Brad quickly realized that finishing this basement would add a great deal of square footage to the home. With the added space, the homeowner could complement his home with a rec-room, home theatre, or other living space. First, of course, he would need new walls, flooring, and a finished ceiling. Brad shared his assessment with the homeowner and discussed some products that would help transform the basement. The homeowner agreed with Brad’s findings and decided to move forward with the project.

Foreman Sheldon Lennon and his crew arrived at the home on the day of production and went downstairs to begin their work. First, they installed EverLast walls throughout the basement. Made from 2 ½ inches of rigid foam insulation and ½-inch concrete cladding, these attractive walls are finished with a vinyl surface treatment to give them an appealing domestic look. This combination also eliminates the need for fiberglass batts while providing an R-value of R-13 and a wall system that is 197% stronger than traditional drywall. Plus, EverLast will not be damaged by moisture or support mold growth, ensuring that it will never lose its insulation value over time. With a 50-year transferable warranty, these walls are perfect for finishing any basement.

For his flooring, the homeowner selected ThermalDry carpet and vinyl tiles. ThermalDry is an aesthetic but functional flooring solution specifically designed for basements. It comes in 1’x1’ tiles that snap together with interlocking joints for easy installation. Each tile is made from inorganic materials that will not be damaged by moisture or support mold growth. The tiles also sit on small plastic pegs that create a thermal barrier between the tile and the existing concrete floor, which keeps ThermalDry 8-10 degrees warmer than the cold concrete below. Since they come in several colors and styles, it was easy for this homeowner to find a ThermalDry solution that works for his basement.

Finally, the crew finished up the basement by adding Finished Linen Ceiling Tiles overhead. These are unique from other ceiling tiles in several ways. While normal ceiling tiles are made from wood fiber, Finished Linen Tiles are made primarily from stone wool fiber that makes them resistant to mold growth. In fact, these tiles come with a 30-year warranty against both mold growth and sagging, which are common problems with lower quality tiles. Finished Linen Ceiling Tiles allow easy access to wiring and plumbing in your basement, but without the disadvantages of lesser tiles.

As the crew finished their work and cleaned up, the homeowner could not believe his basement’s transformation. His once cold and dingy basement had become a space as inviting and comfortable as any in his home. He was excited at the results and could not wait to share his newly finished basement with family and friends for years to come.

After seeing an ad for our company in the mail, the homeowner picked up the phone and called the experts at Total Basement Finishing to help him find a solution.

Sales Representative Matt Kraus traveled to the home on the day of appointment to evaluate the basement. When he arrived, Matt began to think about how the basement could be transformed from a cold, dark basement into a comfortable and beautiful new space. As he finished his evaluation, Matt shared his thoughts with the homeowner and proposed several products that would help complete the transformation. Encouraged by their discussion, the homeowner chose to move forward with the project and transform his basement.

On the day of production, Basement Fniishing Foreman Sean Duffy arrived with his crew to begin installation. EverLast walls eliminate the need for fiberglass batts, and ThermalDry flooring simply snaps together with interlocking joints. With his experience, Sean was able to transform the basement effeciently, and before long, the transformation was complete. The crew finished up and the homeowner was thrilled with the results. He had gained a whole new living space in his home, and he could not wait to enjoy it with his family for years to come.

A house located in Norwich, Connecticut had an unfinished basement that could potentially have a lot more utilization than it currently had. The owner of this house realized that and decided it was time that his basement was in need of being finished so that it could be properly utilized. Once the homeowner decided it was time, he gave Total Basement Finishing, a division of Connecticut Basement Systems a call.

Once this call was made our very own sales representative, Taz Peterson worked with the houseowner to figure out when a free estimate and inspection could be done for this basement.
